If I walk across the street, I get to walk into this majestic building, the “new” Berlin Hauptbahnhof.
Washington, DC, Dinner Party on the Hill
I really enjoyed a dinner party I attended last night on the Hill. Thank you, Professor Meredith Hindley.
The Style in Berlin is No Fashion
I like to rib my German friends in Berlin because they’re always wearing these silly Chairman Mao hats — everyone wears OD green and black caps. If you want some good advice to help you look cool while visiting or living in Berlin, please just dress like a distressed communist revolutionary student protester… blue jeans, Adidas soccer shoes, hoodies, leather coats or bomber jackets — dark colors — but you can wear these until you’re deep in your 40s so buying an assortment of them is a worthwhile investment. I like to call it “Vanguard of the Proletariat Fashion.”
Caught at Schneerot Bar: Libia, Kike, Frank, and Me
We four, from left, Kike, Libia, Chris, and Frank, stopped in for mojitos at Schneerot Bar last Friday night. It was DJ night so we were caught on film and ended up on the Schneerot Blog.
Today Was an Amazing Day (and Night) in Berlin
The last couple days have been great. I have spent some time away from work with Colombian visitors, Kike and Libia, friends of Clau and Frank. Some drinks last night and then brunch, the market, dinner, and then the night out on the town. You can watch it all via Twitter, with all the details, from the start to the end. I have to go to sleep now because tomorrow is another breakfast together. And then who knows what else. Also, I apparently know how to speak Spanish. Who knew!
My Next Bike is a Soma Delancey Single Speed
There are just no Surly Steamrollers available, so I ordered a Soma Delancey single speed.
The Blogroll and Blogrolling
A blogroll is a collection of links to other blogs. Blogrolls are found on most blogs. Blogrolling is the original and most-respected service, although any link list is commonly referred to as a “blogroll."
When in Rome Do As the Romans Do
Engaging in online conversation as a member of an online community requires your language, delivery, humor, and tone to mirror that of the community.
Social Bookmarking Strategy
Making sure that your sites are "bookmarked" and "dugg" on the top social bookmarking sites can really help with site promotion and publicity.
Blog Messaging and Counter-Messaging
Blog search engines such as Technorati, Ask.com, Feedster, and BlogPulse only care about the last word. If you can reply to a negative, hurtful brand hit, then you can dominate the conversation and win the debate in most cases.
Reciprocal Linking and Google PageRank
Blogrolling sites that you want to be connected to can lead to reciprocal linking. The nature of the blogosphere lends itself to linking. The process of exchanging links with other websites is called Reciprocal Linking.
Blogger Outreach is About the Permanent Record
At the end of the day, this is all about getting into permanent record. Second Life may be cool, and so may be IM, but these are all ephemeral — the web and the blogosphere is indexed and exists much longer and to greater effect the longer and deeper the penetration a site has into Google’s, Technorati’s, and Ask.com’s site indices.
Blog Community Outreach
A powerful technique for building community on blogs is to find a compelling item about your industry, products, and services, then search for blogs that are already talking about it on Technorati.
Advice on Starting and Growing an SNS
The main reason why SNS’s are so appealing is not because people are exhibitionists but because people crave connection and community. Too many folks who are jumping onto the Social Network Services bandwagon lost site of what an SNS actually is, including the real motivations for joining them as a registered member.
Training Services
Part of what we do at Abraham PR is teach. We can do and teach. Really. From teaching blogging courses at the Writer's Center to on-site academic lectures, one of our primary goals is mindshare.
Online Publicity Services
Traditionally, a publicist is a person whose job is to generate and manage publicity for a public figure, especially a celebrity, or for a work such as a book or movie. Publicists usually work at large companies handling multiple clients.
Social Network Profiles are Not Fancy Personal Home Pages
Creating a space for your members to “show off” or “express themselves” is less important than giving members to interact. They crave connection and will pursue any perceived connection such as shared interests, hometowns, movies, orientation, or schools.
The Blogroll
A blogroll is a collection of links to other blogs. Blogrolls are found on most blogs. Blogrolling is the original and most-respected service, although any link list is commonly referred to as a “blogroll”.
People are Already Talking About You
The Internet is neither a place nor a destination. One cannot broadcast to the Internet and there is very little correlation between throwing money at online advertising and building brand equity online.
Consulting Services
The following menu may look expansive, but it isn't. We're a new media marketing and new media PR firm -- with well over a decade of experience in web strategy and emergent technology.
Online Reputation Management and Crisis Response
You can’t control online conversation unless you participate. You’ll never be able to control what's being said about you online like you can with Main Stream Media (the press, TV, magazine, etc). Don’t even try.
About Abraham Harrison LLC
Traditional advertising, public relations, and marketing agencies are spending a lot of money and poaching a lot of talent to convince you they get how to reach folks online, but they don't. They're putting lipstick on a pig. Madison Avenue doesn't get it, 50-year-old firms don't get it, and your local PR shop doesn't get it either.
A Spirited Loop of Central Park is 7.22 Miles of Running
I just got back from a 7.22 mile run around Central Park.

Encrypting your emails is a stupid idea for privacy freaks
If you think that saying "bomb" in your email is a bad idea, try passing an encrypted message.
Lucy Kellaway is an Examplar Bicycle Commuter
Brava, Ms. Kellaway, for doing a much better job of evangelizing pedal bike commuting.
I Commuted to Work on My Bike this Morning
The weather was ideal, the road conditions swift, and the en-suite shower at Edelman DC amazingly convenient.
Smart new book teaches teens that sex is not an obligation
Most young men and women (boys and girls) have sex because they feel developmentally obligated to, not because they're ready.
Search engine optimization (SEO) works like a champ
I collected all of my personal blog articles to-date on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and have been handing them out to folks who still believe that SEO is snake oil and I thought I would share them with you, too, since most of you students of blogging actually want your words, your passion, and your voice to be heard.
