My Specialized Langster Gangster single speed bike lives on in Berlin!

My buddy Mark Harrison texted me this photo to show that my pre-2010 Specialized Langster Gangster single-speed aluminum bike is being well-loved and well-used to this day, 3 years after it was gifted to our friend, Frank Merfort's, handsome son, I think who's name is Mika.

It's exactly the same down to the Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires and the exact mudguards that I left the bike with. Even the seat and the bull-bars are the same. I am so happy to see it live and well. Since 2010, I've had my favorite and more practical single-speed bike-turned-3-speed, my Surly Steamroller.

I love Frank Merfort. Back in 2010, I brought a Specialized Bicycles "Gangster Langster" single speed bike to Germany. I left it there and it just sat. Frank called me to ask if he could buy it for his son. I said, "I guess the reason I left it there was for you son." I did not accept his money, that was the bad news. The good news is that such a cool bike is finally owned by a rider that is actually cool enough to ride it! I love it when things like this happen. Thanks, Frank, for recording this event and thanks so much for the lovely ribbon!

Here are some lovely photos of my Specialized Langster Gangster during the days that I rode her in Berlin, Germany, when I was living there.

Thanks to it being Aluminum and relatively inexpensive, my Specialized Langster Gangster single speed bike lived outside during the day. I would always bring it inside at night.

Here's my Specialized Langster Gangster single speed bike living inside its home-at-the-time, Lehrter Straße 5d, Mitte, Berlin.

Here's my Specialized Langster Gangster single speed bike locked at a pole with the biggest, stoutest, U-lock I could buy. I wasn't that worries about stolen wheels as it didn't have quick release hubs or a quick release on the saddle. So, I would just secure the frame.

The beautiful Zandria Marcuson while she was visiting Berlin and she stayed with me and we took several bike rides and she got to meet my Langster Gangster in person!
