I checked out of work a little early this afternoon and got some rowing on my Concep2 Indoor Rower, my trusty old Model C with the PM5 monitor upgrade.
I again did this instead of getting out there running but I think this week--a week that threatens a deluge of rain thanks to Hurricane Florence slowly creeping up from the Southeast. It was smooth, it was easy, and the intensity was low.
I will try to do some serious power-10s tomorrow, making it a little more HIIT than row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream. I will be honest that tonight was, indeed, merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily. Life is but a dream.
I will also aspire to at least 10,000 meters tomorrow, which is the distance that I would like to commit to every day, even on the days when I do go running.
On the crew team in college, it was always running, rowing, and erging. When it comes to exercise, cardio, physiology, and conditioning, rowing and erging and surely complimentary exercises.
Wish me luck!
Oh, wait, I almost forgot! The Fall Team Challenge is coming up! I will make sure I am signed up. For those of you who don't know, here are the deets!
Fall Team Challenge
September 15–October 15
The Fall Team Challenge is a club challenge where club members try to reach either 100,000 meters or 200,000 meters by the end of the challenge. Meters may be accumulated on the indoor rower, the SkiErg, the BikeErg or a combination of the three. There are prizes for those who reach either of these distances, as well as a prize draw for all clubs with at least ten participants reaching 100,000m. To either start or join a team, visit the Teams page of your logbook. If you're a member of a team, make sure you confirm your participation in the challenge.
Full instructions can be found on the Fall Team Challenge page.
