I attended Aliamanu Elementary in 63-64 (I remember my teacher running around screaming the day JFK was killed) and I attended Aliamanu Middle School from 64 to 66. It WAS super wild back in those days. Makalapa crater is where we mostly hung out. We always had our bb guns and firecrackers with us cause we were at constant war with other groups of kids, sometimes Shore Patrol would chase us and we would be at war with them too. I remember climbing a huge monkey pod tree that overhung Makalapa Dr. and dropping a full string of fire crackers in the back of their truck. The first thing we did when we moved here is to quit using shoes - Nobody wanted to call a Haole foot. Knowing you have never watch a documentary on unions. Hear in the United States. And why, we have them today. A lot of people have died to get justice, when none could be found. Other then banning together, to force the point.
Any country that does not have, some type of a way, to fine justice, has slavery and or no middle class, at all.
You would have found out that in the 1800 you were payed in tokens and lived in company housing and had to spend your tokens in the company store. At their inflated prices, because, no one else would take your tokens.
Tell me that is not slavery.
Now tell me you never heard Tennessee Ernie Fords song 21 tons and deeper in debt. That was a cry for JUSTICE if I heard one.
Hope you have the time to look into the History Channels archives to help you fine a middle ground.
And I will also say a union with to much power is also a bad thing. Let the pendulum swing, it will correct its self. But don't kill the middle class as we move forward. B

Pat It was hard to listen to day.<br

I have a non-English origin and I'm aware I make loads of mistakes but it doesn't stop me from practising (and perfecting, I hope) my writing skills. I found it interesting because I frequently find myself never satisfied with my own writing. I think to myself, 'thats good, but I can do a lot better.' I've found that being both a perfectionist and writer are two things that don't mix. I always end up frustrating myself and things don't get done on deadlines. I've learned the importance of taking some time away from projects when my mind is blocked, and it has helped tremendously. When I come back to my projects, I feel refreshed and my creativity begins to flow once again.

I enjoyed your post. It was very informative.
