I love to go out in the late morning
among my fat, overfed, icy, Blackberry-connected fellow professionals
to eat breakfast, while on our Blackberries,
the keys very sticky, a penalty
we pay for engaging the black art
of Blackberry-worship; and as I stand among them
lifting the LCD toward my eyes, the ripest berries
from my Starbucks danish pastry fall almost unnoticed onto my little thumb keyboard,
as words sometimes do, certain peculiar words
like “net-net” or “open-kimono”,
many-lettered, multi-syllabled piles,
which I leverage, and monetize, and instantiate well
in the silent, stunted, icy, black on white language
of the Blackberry — while eating in the late morning.
