When I received my new Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 from Amazon in the mail yesterday I was amazed by how tiny is is — really much smaller than I expected after doing so much research on it. The little camera — one of the most powerful PRO-level compact cameras on planet earth — is way smaller than the Leica M-series of rangefinder cameras — and the Ms are way small. I can’t wait to spend some serious time shooting with it.

You made the right choice. Bought mine a year ago and it’s fantastic. Because of its fast f2.0 lens and image stabilisation, you can pull off shots without flash that some of my SLR-owning friends can’t take!
Thanks so much, Simon — it is pretty hard to get used to something so powerful that’s in such a bloody small form factor. It is quite amazing. However, I really NEED to read the bloody manual!
love the camera. It’s amazing.. and it’s just the big brother of mine.
