It is official! I am off to Berlin in a couple weeks to attend an 8-week intensive German language course at the Berlin Goethe-Institut, from 8 March through the end of April. I wasn’t quite sure where the classes were, believing them to be much further away from where I am staying than they really are. They’re just 10-15 minutes away via bike, so I will be riding my bicycle there every morning, back every afternoon.

I’ll be flying there too this August- September Intensive 4 Class. Can you help me, where do you think can I avail a cheap hostel room since I am planning to stay another 6 more days after the end of the class.. And I was also planning to go to other Schengen states..:)

I don’t know but I would call the office because they really do go out of their way to help. Seriously, the Goethe-Institut Berlin is way more than just a school, it is a cultural center and it is important for them to make sure you’re happy. +49 30 259063 and berlin@goethe.de — when I was there, I have a corporate apartment that we keep there so I didn’t need to find a room — I had one. Yup everything I guess will be shouldered by the institute (rooms, health care, fare etc.) for the entire course but since I will extend for another more week. I will be then responsible for everything! Can you tell me more about your experience there?

Thanks for your advice! I do have a shared- flat which allows me to extend for another more week, a very nice apartment courtesy of Goethe.
