The Next Big Thing is Context-Aware Search

by Chris Abraham on 14/04/2009 ·

My Facebook profile describes me this way:

Chris Abraham is a pioneer in online social networks and publishing with a natural facility for anticipating the next big thing.

Periodically, people ask me, “So Chris what do you think the next big thing might be?” And here’s what I said when Gail in Houston, Tx, asked:

I think the next big thing is search 2.0, which is context-aware. It is called Semantic Search, and we’re getting very much closer to that.

We have been searching using the same tools and many of the same algorithms for over ten years, so I think that Twitter is driving this new innovation.

What do you think? Here’s why I am so excited: Is Google Semantic Search Realized? We’ll see, eh?
