- When I began to write about my experiences at the Social Media Seminar 2009 in Appomattox on Saturday, 7 March, my writing resembled a school essay. Then, I stopped to reflect on everything I learned this past weekend, and I realized that – although ’school’ was in session last Saturday – my experience with the Social Media Seminar went far deeper and was more profound than anything I ever expected when Jason Fowler and I hatched this idea a few months ago.
- The Appomattox Social Media Seminar, held on Saturday, 7 March, presented an opportunity for individuals to learn how to use social media. But, this seminar also represented a time to generate ideas, to learn about other like-minded individuals and to build social networks. It also was a time to learn how to speak again, perhaps with a different voice and in a different context.
