I opened the can of Xyience Xenergy Mango Guava and took a sip this morning. It is lightly-carbonated and gently sweet and tastes more like a fruit juice than what I associate with an energy drink.
I have been doing SEO work for Xyience for months now but have never tried their energy drinks. I have searched 7-11, I have searched at gas stations and at Safeway. Nothing. So, they popped two four packs to me via the US Postal Service.
My fridge sucks so I chilled them over night and now I just sipped the first can, Xyience Xenergy Mango Guava. The first thing you notice is that the Xenergy can is much bigger, a whole 16 ounces, versus 8.3 ounces for Red Bull. So, Xenergy is a whole can of drink, not just a shot. The Xenergy can is taller and thinner than a soda can, too.
My experience has mostly been with Gatorade (since high school wrestling — the green and the orange stuff) and sometimes with Red Bull. I don’t like Red Bull because it tastes like cough medicine, really syrupy and like chemicals.
Xenergy doesn’t taste like Hawaiian guava juice, pulpy and like juice, but it does taste a little like mango and guava, that’s for sure. Maybe a little like juice soda, mango soda, guava soda. But not like that heavy syrup. I like it. It feels more refreshing than Gatorade because there is a little bit of tartness and if it were a wine, I would say it is dryer than either Gatorade and Red Bull.
Xyience Xenergy Mango Guava has a little in common with the taste properties of Diet Coke. What I mean is, it isn’t as heavy as as regular Coke. Less syrupy, etc. I won’t go into the whole caloric, energy, caffeine, vitamin details now because this is only a taste test.
I like it and I expected not to, actually, because I had equated ‘energy drink’ with Red Bull and I hate Red Bull.
I will make a point to try to see how it effects me and my energy. I will drink a can before my run today or tomorrow and then report back.

I’m a mother of 3 young ones and let me tell you…it is hard to get through my busy day…then i discovered Xyience Xenergy mango energy drink and say no more! I’m anxious to try all the other flavors as i was in awe of Xyience Xenergy.
