God does not have a glass jaw. I believe in God. I do. I believe in spirit. I have a lot of faith and a lot of hope. That said, if you were to insult my concept of God, or God himself, it wouldn’t bother me at all.
Saying that man can hurt or kill God is like believing that man can hurt or kill the Earth. Man cannot. We can hurt and kill ourselves and all life on Earth, but Earth (and God) will always persevere.
In my faith and prayer, God doesn’t have a glass jaw.
What omnipotent, omnipresent, timeless, transcendent Creator would need to be vengeful, petty, or feel insult?
To me, God, Himself, would not retaliate against Piss Christ or Muhammad cartoons.
Would you be comforted by a Heavenly Father as petty and easily-baited by garden-variety blasphemy as you? Certainly not. Pettiness such as this is not of God but of man.
Godhead is invulnerable and immortal.
I never trust a Faith, a religion, or a deity vulnerable to the wagging tongues and shaken fists of the vulnerable and mortal. My God doesn’t have a glass jaw; my God is neither petty nor vendictive; my God is loving and forgiving; my God loves His children very much.
All of this hate, all of this war, all of this fighting, and all of this fear is in the name of God, but is fundamentally and essentially human and not Divine.
Divinity possesses all of the best qualities and character traits you can ever imagine in one being; even better, consider what is better, greater, and more sublime, pure, beautiful, patient, loving, and kind than we can ever imagine, since we are in fact removed from the divine.
Murder and mayhem are the acts of man, and don’t you forget it.
