You and I know that Stephen Colbert is actually a Democrat, a family man, a liberal, and a devout Roman Catholic. In the real world, this is not a contradiction but in today’s climate they are antithetical. You and I know that The Colbert Report is a satire of the Right. You and I recognize the incessant winks, “say no more, say no more.” Unfortunately, most folks don’t appreciate this gorgeously nuanced, bloody hilarious, “fake news.”
Here is a brilliantly frightening example directly from my comments, “Hilarious… I love Colbert for his ethical and moral stance of important issues to the religious community. I can tell he is a conservative Christian…” It continues and gets much, much, worse… Good sweet Lord.

I both agree and disagree with you on this, but I have to lean more towards disagreement. If people are unable to figure out if something like the Colbert Report is nothing more than satire, then those people are already lost. There’s really nothing you can do to, or for, those people other than point out they’re morons for believing that show (anything else) is more than satire.
I agree with Jonathan - anyone who can’t get it isn’t going to support Democrats anyway. If they are actually seeing their hater proclivities reflected in Colbert - they will never be able to see anything else. So forget them. Yeah - what he said - morons. But I bet your traffic jumped by posting about Colbert!
