Online outreach activities require bespoke tailoring according to the community’s values and communication patterns; otherwise, marketing campaigns can not merely fail, but result in server blowback, hurting not just brand perception online, but universal brand reputation.

A next step when planning an online brand promotion campaign is to define target audiences. Examples of target audiences are video bloggers, bloggers, travelers, backpackers, drinkers, video fans, hostelers, film-makers, vacationers, good-living aficionados, families, and budget travelers. How granular you get depends on how general or specific your message. Each target will require some thought regarding outreach activities tailored to the community’s values and communication patterns.
