I have always desired an Italian cafe racer. No, Ducati makes a classic replica called the Sport 1000 S. My, what a perfect thing…
From the Ducati website:
CAFÉ RACER STYLE
In a repeat of history, Ducati now follows the 1970s trend of individualism and performance enhancement by introducing a period-style fairing to create the Sport 1000 S. Boasting a dual seat and twin shocks, the Sport 1000 S lets you enjoy the Café Racer style two-up. A bold new colour scheme features red bodywork on a red frame. Black wheels and a black exhaust system contrast strongly against the red bike and other black components complete the classic picture. A removable tailpiece cover gives the Sport 1000 S the Café Racer look, but when removed reveals a seat for your favourite passenger.
DUCATI ROAD HOLDING
The Sport 1000 S is built with quality throughout. Its confident road holding is thanks to its race-inspired Trellis frame and sport-tuned suspension. It mounts high performance Marzocchi 43mm upside-down front forks with classic brushed aluminium surfaces, while rear suspension is handled by twin high performance fully adjustable Sachs shocks. The Sport 1000 S bristles with classic Café Racer appeal, while still delivering the superior road holding and performance you expect from Ducati.

You’ve got to admire companies that take direction from motorcycle trends from the past. The Cafe Racer style of bikes represent a time in motorcycling history that inspired the production of racing bred bikes for the everyday rider. Kudos to Ducati and their Sport Classic range.
Ive Got One :), Just Picked it up a couple of weeks ago, Is Everything and More, than Expected. Is a Modern Classic in its own right, not a limp wristed lookalike, A True Road Sportsbike, and combines the Best of Everything that was Ever Great about Motorcycles, when I was young, and then some !!! At 44 it makes me feel like a 20 year old again . Not for those that cant take the pain at low speed, but in the hills is Pure Enjoyment, Pure motorcycling at its Best !!!!!! Cheers Rick
I envy. I think that Australia might be the land of milk and honey!

6 Months down the track, Its Better than when I bought it, Its a weird thing ,the pain of riding it at slow speed and trying to get my aching body and brain to cope with it , knowing of the Pleasures that wait me when I can give it its head .
Now it Fits me Like a Glove , Feels Good at any Speed , Feels part of Me and me Part of it ! :0
As One.
And is so Fast and Smooth is Revelation for any serious 70′s Jap Superbike Enthusiast, I grew up on these things, Total Fun, but Evil Handling, Whats what made them exciting, to be able to go as Fast as you could and not Die in the Process,
This machine goes so fast with so much ease , Leaves many Jap Hyper Rockets for Dead in The Real World , Probably because the Riders couldnt drive a Finger up there Arse :)
A Truly Superb Motorcycle , In Every Sense , Not a Handbag Fashion Accessory..
