Fashion design school is not cosmetology school for high school graduates.
fashion school, fashion design, and fashion merchandising are all highly-competitive career choices, not for the faint of heart.
Lots of folks think that the fashion industry is all nancy boys and goth girls who were just smart enough to dodge becoming hairdressers. Not so.
My high school sweetheart, Georgina, has a sister named Fiona. They were half Hong Kong Chinese and half British. They were both tiny, sophisticated, gorgeous, and artistic.
Georgina went to acting school at USC and then transferred to Tish at NYU. She might have even been part of RADA. Anyway, her sister Fiona went to FIT.
She sewed muslin and make fashion and was invited to the coolest parties and clubs. To run with her was to run with the bulls. She has Manhattan by the nose. Between hanging with Georgina, Fiona, and DJ Keoki, I actually have much better college memories of New York than of DC, better memories of the Fashion Institute of Technology and New York University’s Tish School than of my own GW.
Have a talent, love fashion and design, find yourself passionate about clothes, well apply to fashion school.
