A Vacation in the Bahamas Sounds Nice

I think my next vacation is probably going to be some serious R & R in the Bahamas. Just me, my freediving fins, some sun, some sand, and lots of rest.

I used to take working vacations. I backpack, a Domke bag, $10k of Nikons, bags of Velvia and Provia, and a Hostel card. Well, now I ache to have one of those vacations that boring people take. Sun, sand, sleep, fruity drinks, warm blue water, motor scooters, touristy nicknacks, lots of sunbathing, a bicycle ride, and the smell of coconut straight from the bottle. When I think of this tropical experience, I think of the Bahamas. I have been waiting to visit someplace tropical and amazing until I could go with someone, but the truth is when you work in public affairs, you need to use your vacation to recover and restore. And I don’t think it takes very long to get there. Whenever I wanted to go back to Hawaii to see my dad, I needed to fly 6,000 miles!
