A Blog of Your Own Blogging Workshop a Gridlocked Success

the writers center A Blog of Your Own Blogging Workshop a Gridlocked SuccessI needed to get to my blogging class, A Blog of Your Own, early to help out the Staff of Glen Echo Park so I got into my car in the garage at Edelman at 6, right after an important call. I didn’t arrive at my class until a little after 8PM. The flooding of DC had rusted the city streets and noone was going anywhere.

I couldn’t get out of the bleeding bloody garage and onto 18th street until 6:40. From 6:40-8 I travelled the 7.82 miles, a 21 minute drive, to my Glen Echo Park classroom in a total of 2 hours drive time. I arrived to a class full of happy faces and a dry, bright, room.

Thank you, Meredith Forster, for guiding me by wire and setting up the classroom for me like a champ. And I loved my students, too. Most of them are regulars by now, having attended more than one class.

My teaching style is pretty casual and is based mostly on what folks want to know. Last night was pretty advanced stuff.

I think that I was able to cover most everything in my A Blog of Your Own Course Outline. Today I will be trying to set up the next series of classes for the Writer’s Center.
