I agree. What’s the fuss? It’s not content they’re tracking. Besides, the cost - ration benefit just don’t make this a threat to ordinary citizens. Black helicopters will not come if they hear you buying a dime bag of weed from you neighbor’s teenage son. Though they probably should. Gee, am I getting more conservative by the lunar cycle or what?
I hope it is my influence. Anyway, it is a resource game. When there are too few agents with Arabic language anyway and there isn’t an Agent Smith who is actually a computer routine who can spawn a million instances of himself. It comes down to resources. I work at a marketing company (last day) with an intelligence gathering component and no matter how smashing the technology is and no matter how indefatigable the bots and crawlers, the expensive part is hiring, maintaining, supporting, and paying American workers to do analysis and also enforcement.
It just cannot be done. Loads and loads and loads of records are going to sit like the unopened mail in my foyer. Maybe forever.
