CEOs Get Paid Millions Because of Simple Math

by Chris Abraham on 14/04/2006 · 0 comments

When I hear people complain about how much CEOs get paid, I want to scream! It is simple math. And you are blaming the victim, people.

Salesmen get percentages of their sales. Celebrities and sports stars get a piece of the pie that makes some business sense. CEOs are business celebrities and are ultimately scouted and signed. CEOs are only paid what they’re offered.

The onus is on Human Resources and the board or directors not to hire a CEO, the CEO is not responsible to either the company or the board for being smart, hiring lawyers, and making sure that there is a gorgeous golden parachute should the company, the board, or the investors get cold feet. The real world has no takebacks and no Mulligans. Sucker!
