In response to asking how Natalie’s trip to Europe is going, I was rewarded with this beautiful missive, “I’m brilliant, but a bit hungover at the moment. Perfect for my flight to Cologne in seven hours.”
“A few random slices, then: The football hooligans at Millwall. A biting wind over the Thames on Vauxhall Bridge but worth it to see the gorgeous M15 building. Seeing ‘The Lady of Shallot’ at the Tate. Rejecting the advances of the kind-but-not-so-attractive Miles in favor of the well-endowed and gorgeous bad boy Edgar. Trips to the off-licence. Indian food on Brick Lane. Having spliffs at 4am with the flatmates. Pints of cider and black. Wandering ’round Wimbledon. A man on a 15-foot unicycle in Covent Garden. A shop with huge gorgeous blocks of scented soaps which will chop off a great big hunk of whatever you fancy. A cavernous underground wine bar where you have to walk bent over but whose candlelight is perfect for catching up with an old friend. Drinking on a moored boat at Embankment, keeping time by glancing at Big Ben out the window. Being only five points out of first place in the pub quiz (should have played the Joker in the movie round!).”
“Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. God, I love this place.”
Thanks, Natalie!
