I wear my jeans often enough for them to pay for themselves. I think it is crazy because people will spend that much on a dress for a special occasion that they might wear once, but not on jeans that they can wear at least once a week.

I think a great fitting, nice looking pair of jeans is well worth the price. However, I've found Express brand jeans to have some nice cuts. (Sure, they have a few varieties that most women need to wax to wear without embarrassing themselves, but there are some that are more reasonably cut.) They aren't as cheap as Target or Wal-mart, but they're more reasonable, and sometimes they have good sales. (They also seem to last a long time, so I don't mind paying 50 or 70 bucks for them.)Unfortunately, the Ross and Marshall's around here don't tend to have a great selection, but I do like to keep my eyes open for things on eBay, etc... Still hoping to get that super hot pair ;)

I can’t afford Seven for All Mankind-cost stuff, either (though I’d love to own a few pairs). I have a child and i still want to look hot! Just got to shop around, theres affordable fashion for everyones budget. Besides jeans last quite awhile so a bit more money is worth the fresh new look, and the great self esteem that goes with lookin sweet:)

Does wanting to feed our children make us not want to be hot? I didin't think those were mutually exclusive options.Being a fashionable, caring, and dollar-watching mom is possible, I think, unless I am not seeing myself clearly.

First of all, there are bargain ways to get quality clothes. eBAy, Marshalls, etc. Fabulous jeans, of the select brands you mentioned, don’t need to cost an arm or two legs.

Second of all, I’m not quite understanding your comments to @Lisa: “Besides, you have more than one child you need to feed so being hot is probably not your number-one priority.”

Are moms not hot? Some Americans have lots of money; some Americans prioritize dressing very nicely, and some people wear their jeans out as "date jeans" and want obviously nice jeans.Besides, you have more than one child you need to feed so being hot is probably not your number-one priority. $125 jeans make a lot more sense when you basically love in jeans and wearing cool casual clothes is something that reflects how hip and modern you are. Then there are single people or young professionals or people who are dating and then there are people who don't want to be talk about as wearing mom jeans.Considering how much clothes do cost and considering how much I don't spend on suits, ties, oxfords, jackets, slacks, and so forth, I would prefer to spend some of my hard-earned money on a nice pair of modern, good fitting, jeans that shows that I care a little more than just dressing nicely. At the end of the day, working out, eating right, working out, and having a nice body is way more important to our culture than having $125 jeans, to tell you the truth.Jeans are a mainstay and they're pretty durable. $125 isn't a lot if those jeans give you a whole year or more of faithful service.

@Lisa: Well, you simply have different priorities than other people. I don't care whose labor we are taking advantage of. I mean, I do care, but.... I don't have the luxury of spending that much on jeans. If I spend $20 per pair I think I'm being too extravagant. I got kids to feed. What if the $125 jean designer worked WITH WalMart to create a lower cost version for those of us not living the high life.Honestly, I want to dress nicely within reason, but with all the problems there are in the world, so many people suffering through this worldwide recesssion... the very idea that spending alot of money to keep the fashion police off my back is necessary is just ridiculous.

Are you for real? Fashion is Fashion and clothing is clothing. There are $40 loafers and there are $400 loafers. It is all about what you want to pay for things. Actually, the real price of a pair of shoes is $200, not $20 -- $20 is only the price people pay because we're subsidized by other, poorer and cheaper, economies such as China and Vietnam. See what I mean? Also, jeans shouldn't be as cheap as they currently are, either, we're taking advantage of the labor of other people. Do you really think $125 is too much for jeans? What isn't too much? How much is OK? People often pay much more than $125, by the way.

@Jsens3: If you go to Wal-Mart, you will look like you went to Wal-Mart.
