Last night I spent the evening at the MCI Center as a student of Washington Capitals NHL Ice Hockey at the esteemed and respected Washington Capitals University. It was an amazing experience.
I got a bunch of swag, got to hang out in the Caps’ locker room for two-and-a-half hours (and yes, it does smell like a locker room for your information), meet a couple of the rookies, brush up on what icing really means and how many periods hockey actually has, and ended up taking loads of photos with my RAZR camera phone. The coolest thing is that I got to hold the 1989 Stanley Cup ring in my grubby paw.
All that and I came home with two tickets to tonight’s game against the Florida Panthers.

This is where I worship Olie Kolzig.

More Olie Kolzig worship.

And even more Olie Kolzig worship.

What did you think was going to happen? Think I would stop?

Lots and lots of hockey sticks, each player has his own bin.

And more sticks — you can make out Alexander Ovechkin’s sticks, #8

The Washington Capitals actually play NHL 06 on their Xbox.

All the players’ sumptuous robes in the "city clothes" room.

Where all the blood washes off and drains into the floor.

Where all the beer comes out and swirls down the drain, hoser.

Where lots and lots of hair gel and mousse is applied before going out on the town.

I guess this hot tub is used for therapeutic purposes only.

I am pretty pleased with myself that I got to hold Ken Sabourin‘s 1989 Stanley Cup ring. Serious bling!
