Support an Olympic Team for the District of Columbia

by Chris Abraham on 26/01/2006 · 1 comment

“Please Support the efforts of the DC Olympic Committee to field Olympic teams for the District of Columbia (DC).”

“As you may know, the District of Columbia is not part of the 50 states that make up the United States. The citizens of the District of Columbia only have the same representation in the United States Congress as other American territories such as Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. The International Olympic Committee has recognized the Olympic committees of these other territories under control of the U.S. Government. I am writing today to ask that you consider the same course of action for the District of Columbia.”

Thanks so much for the link! It’s time to represent in DC…both in Congress and in the Olympics. Be sure to send your letter to the IOC at http://www.dcolympicteam.org
