Knitters and Crocheters!

I met my lovely friend Emily at a CAC thing, Emily reminded me. She says “that’s when we fell in luv” and so it is. So, why don’t you knit or crochet a wee little hat for a wee little head this holiday season, “Use your skills for a good cause this winter. Pull out your yarn baskets (c’mon, you know you’ve got them) and create a hat to donate to Safe Shores - The DC Children’s Advocacy Center!”

Safe Shores - The D.C. Children’s Advocacy Center is a 501(c)(3) direct service nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and working directly with child victims of sexual and physical abuse in the District of Columbia. As you may imagine, many of the children who come through the Center have little but the clothes on their backs and have experienced serious trauma. Help keep little heads warm by creating a unique hat for a child in need in your area.

All sizes and colors are needed for boys and girls from infant to adult. Please mail your finished hats to:

Safe Shores, The DC CAC
Attn: Victim Services Coordinator/Knitted Hats
300 E St., NW
Washington, DC 20001

Feel free to include a note with your contact information if you would like a thank you note from the Center. Monetary donations are accepted as well, however this project is focusing on finished hats. You can learn more about the CAC by visiting www.safeshores.org.
