I Love my BOSE Wave Radio

Okay, I have been marketed to. After years of seeing ads for the The Bose® Advanced Wave® Music System. in the New Yorker, I bought one and I love it.

It sits there above my DV and is the voice of everything: my TV, XBOX, and XM Radio receiver as well as its my morning radio and alarm clock. It fills the room with sound and reminds me that FM isn’t tinny but actually “stereophonic.”

It has dual alarms, too, and you can choose radio/CD, buzzer, or both. I choose both because I hate waking up. I have the alarm across the room for two reasons: the little thing has a wireless remote, and also because my subconscious is smart enough to hit the snooze without waking me up — but isn’t bright enough to manage the remote.

Cool thing is that a replacement remove only costs between $9-$14, so if you lose one (or want a backup) its not extortionate.

The pricepoint is a little high, but the build quality and sound quality is as well — and it looks great. And since most folks I know have the same alarm clock they used in high school, its almost a better investment then college or a mortgage.

I love mine. The only thing I wish it had is more than just AUX for input. I guess the much larger Bose 5-CD Acoustic Wave System has more of that.

This radio delivers rich, full stereo sound with deep bass response, yet it is compact enough to fit on an end table, night table, countertop or desk.

Today (12/7/06) on Boston radio, WTKK, 96.9, an ad’ for Bose Wave Radio was read by a very poor reader who had trouble stumbling over the words. However he was clear when he said that “Bush” would probably give a Bose to PM Tony Blair, and that PM Blair would deserve a nice gift as reward for even agreeing to meet with him.
Denigrating the president of The United States is seen by some as the most clever thing a pc, trendy advertising writer can do to demonstrate his own cuteness, but Bose should consider leaving such snide attacks out of its marketing plan.
At least two probable Bose purchases were rethought today.
