Flat-Pricing for Movies Makes Sense Considering the Matinee

by Chris Abraham on 07/11/2005 ·

When it comes to movie-pricing, “In a supply-and-demand economy, flat pricing like this makes little sense.” Little sense until you consider the matinee rates for films. Via AFF Brainwash.

Matinee tickets for Shop Girl over the weekend cost me only $11 for two adults. Nobody in his right mind would want his film to be a discount film. If you are poor or have a family you’re probably more able to make a matinee showing and less likely to be going to the movies during prime time. Besides, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
