A girl friend and I are attending an advanced screening of shopgirl tonight here in DC. Reviews by EW, Berardinelli, and Rotten Tomatoes.
I love the cast and my friend loved the book. I’ll tell you more tomorrow but reviews and awards give it thumbs-up. The funniest living man is Steve Martin (if only Peter Sellers were still alive). Jason Schwartzman was cool in Rushmore and amazing in I Heart Huckabees. Claire Danes? Well, we’ll see if she peaked in “My So-Called Life.” I sort of liked her well enough in Igby Goes Down — but I know those city girls (and Claire Danes is supposedly one of them) and she isn’t one of them.
