A Long Weekend in Monterey

by Chris Abraham on 08/09/2005 · 0 comments

Compared to previous family weekends spent in Oxford, Palm Springs, Sante Fe, Charleston, and the like, last weekend in Monterey was by far best in show. Three words: cheap good wine.

Relationships expanded and profoundly deepened. I got to hang out with kids at the Monterey Bay aquarium.

The panels were insightful, the speakers were all relaxed and lucid, the conversations were gracious and honest, and everybody laughed quite a lot. Wine tastings. Lots of very cool, passionate, successful, brilliant, and accomplished people everywhere you look! Couldn’t swing a dead cat without hitting one.

It really doesn’t get much better than that.

And as if it could get any better, the younger participants taxied over to Octane where we caught Sir Mix-a-Lot. Baby really does got back.

Honestly, the Charleston weekend has a lot to live up to.
