I recently received the third in a series of laser hair removal treatments on my back.
I have to say that it gets easier and less painful each time I go. And, it works like a dream!
The reason, I am told, is because there is less and less “target” as laser deactivates all of the hair follicles. Less target equals less sting when getting the hair removed from my sizable back. In addition to the topical numbing cream, the Cutera laser has an excellent cooling system which super cools your skin before it “zaps” your hair. It feels really nice, actually.
I had to remove my shirt, don on a pair of goggles, lie on my stomach on a table, and listen to a combination of the beep beep beep of the laser, the strange “zap” of the laser acquiring target, and the burning hair smell. Luckily, the gang at Wendy R. Gottlieb MD PLC played a really great playlist on the resident iPod so I didn’t pay too much attention.
The tip of the gun was cool on my skin and the either the numbing cream was really working its magic or there is really a lot less target.
The back encompasses so many zones that there are places on my back that were very sensitive and I jumped a few times, I won’t lie. Never did I feel anything remotely as uncomfortable as getting my back waxed. Back waxing hurts like a bugger.
The gang at Wendy R. Gottlieb MD PLC do it right and I felt comfortable and welcome the entire time.
I have to admit that before I started getting these laser hair removal procedures, I was a member of the Nair for Men secret society, asking my mother, my friend Sarah, and others to help me Nair my back periodically. When I became more of a yuppie, I started getting my back waxed, but I can’t recommend it since its embarrassing hanging out in the waiting room of a spa that offers waxing. Plus, it really hurts to have your entire back waxed, and it isn’t permanent!
The coolest thing about their Cutera laser is that is can deal with tanned skin as well as naturally-pigmented skin as well as being able to deal with small blemishes, freckles, small moles, and spider veins. Other laser hair removal systems would not be able to deal with my tanned back, but was able to have my treatment even though my back is now quite tan.
I believe that I have two more sessions to go before I have myself complete back laser hair removal, after which I won’t have to deal with back hair for at least a couple years. I am not the only heterosexual man who hates having hair on my back so I want to evangelize the back hair laser hair removal procudure to any and all of you within the sound of my voice.
The 20% off laser hair removal summer sale is still being offered so I would jump at it ASAP.

The laser hair removal technique removes the hair by having the laser emitting an invisible light that penetrates the skin without harming it. The laser light is then absorbed by the pilous follicle pigments. The laser light absorbed by the follicle breaks its functions and eliminates its ability to fabricate more hair.
