MS has settled to just take 5 mill, and supposedly Pidley Scott will direct, Samuel L. Jackson will play Sgt. Johnson, and Ed Harris will play Capt. Keyes. This is all supposed, but so far this looks like a pretty good film shaping up. Not surprisingly the film studios will have to work closely with Bungie and follow a sort of "Bible" to ensure that the core game plot is followed.
