    It’d be hilarious, if people just weren’t so utterly fucking stupid.

    Basically what he’s saying, is that “we know we can trust the value of Christian values, because they’ve worked all this time”, when in fact they led to hundreds of years of dogmatism and ignorance in the Middle Ages and are currently used to ease justifying just about anything in American politics.
