Hey.
The medium is the message? That’s cute. I didn’t take the time to read anything on your page, because obviously, the message is: orange headings, white background, black letters, grey sidebars.
Your website’s little slogan is fucking stupid. I just wanted to let you know that. I’m gonna assume that at some point you read the little phenomology explanation on the Obey website and swiped your phrase from that site in admiration and an attempt to associate yourself with a seemingly cryptic and inexplicably non-conformist message like that.
Trust me, it doesn’t apply to your website. Take it down or you’ll always look like a copycat posing stupid bitch.
Sorry if this offended you, but posers offend me, especially when they publish their poser ideas so other people can accidentally stumble across them and expose themselves to something as trite and annoying.

Charming. The only person I am copying, my undereducated and poorly-informed friend is Marshall McLuhan…
In other words, “Because the Medium is the Message” is mine,
“The medium is the message” might be Obey Giant (and incidentally, I run Memes.org, which is all about the “Andre the Giant has a Posse”) but the full quote by Marshall McLuhan is:
“The medium is the message. This is merely to say that the personal and social consequences of any medium - that is, of any extension of ourselves - result from the new scale that is introduced into our affairs by each extension of ourselves, or by any new technology.”
– Marshall Mcluhan
So, ergo, you are right, I am copying (and extending), and you are wrong, as I am not coying from Obey Giant.
aw, c’mon… you gotta give him the “posing stupid bitch” part at least, don’t you?
I didn’t say he was wrong about that, but I prefer to refer to it as being derivative or even prissy little bitch. Posing is fine. Ignorant maybe. Stupid? We, sure. Thanks Mark.
My company is interested in purchasing ad space on your website. Right now we wanted to find out about placing a text based ad on the page http://www.chrisabraham.com/2005/07/paris_hilton_fi.html
However we would also be willing to have our ad shown on all pages of your site at your discretion. Currently we would be willing to pay you $ .25 for every click that this ad receives.
If you decide to accept this proposal please create your ExpoActive account using the following dynamic link
http://www.expoactive.net/r/?r=f82e3da12f695db522124d730714da84
After creating your ExpoActive account you will be able to view the actual ad that we would like to place on your website. If you agree to display this Ad on your website you will be provided with a short HTML segment that you simply paste on to your site’s pages wherever you believe the Ad would be most effective. In the event that you feel the ad you have been offered would be more relevant on a different website that you operate, it is fine to place it there providing the visitor demographics are similar.
You will then immediately begin earning $ .25 every time a visitor of your website clicks this ad. At any time you will be able to log into your account and view your balance. The money you earn will be sent to you via check or certified money order on a monthly basis.
We hope you choose to accept our proposal, as we look forward to advertising with you ASAP!
Sincerely,
Pete Caxivo
