Google will not lose its place as top search engine to another search engine but to feeds.
WAIS was replaced by Internet Directories was replaced by Search Engine Indices will be replaced by a new way of consuming online content, the feed. Be it ATOM, RSS, RDF, or some other variant XML schema, the desktop personal computer will be a thing of the past and so will the ponderous, inefficient, search engine.
