U.S. War Bonds

Conservative talk radio show host Michael Savage believes that we should issue U.S. War Bonds, like they did in World War II?

What do you think? Are you pro or against them?

I think that the United States should float them because I believe that it will do two things:

  • It will of course raise money through debt, but a debt that is placed on the shoulders of Americans and not foreign investors.

  • It will be an amazing way of allowing Americans to feel more involved and really engagement.

And at the very worst, nobody will buy them. And knowing Americans, people will climb all over themselves to buy them in $10,000 blocks. And not for the investment, either.

To do their part. To do our part.

In a time like this, we need to make sure that if we are going to be involved in a global crusade against terror in the name of democracy that we really have buy in, hearts, and minds.

We will never get buy in internationally, but we need to make sure we don’t lose buy in domestically.

It is all marketing and PR, isn’t it?
