My Name is Scibe Hyperfiction

I had the honor of being part of a collaborative hyperfiction by Judy Malloy called My Name is Scibe.

I don’t talk about it at all, but the My Name is Scibe hyperfiction is something I am very proud of.

I was only 24 when I wrote it.

Writing is an amazing thing as it is a better barometer and thermometer of the heart, mind, and soul than any photograph

    chris,

i am highly offended by this statement… “Writing is an amazing thing as it is a better barometer and thermometer of the heart, mind, and soul than any photograph” … pitting one art form against another is something i leave to the fascist intelligentsias of the old republic. you’re much too young to know such spite and malice of such a time, much less have it ingrained into your precepts.

the photographs of, say, diane arbus or steve mccurry, are striking in many way. So much complex emotions are evoked and shifted as a result of a casual glance to a long hypnotic stare. check out arbus’ “puerto rican woman with beauty mark” or mccurry’s “afghanistian refugee”.

though i am not opposed to revisions or edits, i respect your conviction.

  2. Personally-speaking, I have been a professioanl photographer working for agencies such as Corbis and Pacific Stock since 1983.

I surely know about that which I speak, in my own personal space and personal experience.

  3. Photography might be a better barometer and thermometer of another’s experience and life. I am talking of the artist’s heart and mind and soul, not the subject’s.
